Welcome! I’m a photographer based on South Whidbey Island, WA. My work is all about capturing who you are and the meaningful connections in your life. I want you to see your finished portraits and think, “That’s me.” My goal is to create photography that tells your story.
This video project was created to complement two sessions: a family session that highlights the story behind the wall art in their home, and a portrait session with Amelia Butler, a Māori cultural practitioner whose work fosters a connection to indigenous knowledge and identity. In both sessions, the intention was the same—to reflect personality, place, and purpose through thoughtful photography.
I acknowledge that the images I create also encompass my own perspective. I find that landscapes have a voice in portraits, too.
The way someone softens near the ocean, or lights up under a canopy of trees—it all becomes part of the portrait.
This video project underscores my belief that photography is not just about getting “the shot,” but about understanding the people in the frame. I strive to create images that reflect something true about my clients—not just how they look, but how they live. This video serves as a visual representation of that philosophy.
